The table and bar chart give information about the time spent by man and woman on leisure and household activities in 2008.
Overall, men spent most of their time on leisure activities especially watching TV, while women devote their time to household activities by doing cooking and washing dishes specifically.
Looking at the table initially, men spent most of their time on leisure activities as opposed to women’s. In TV, video, radio activities men spend an average of 137 minutes per day, while women spend 118 minutes. Moreover, in sports activities men also spend a little bit more minutes than women’s which is 15 minutes for the former and 11 minutes for the latter. However, only on reading activity women stayed at the higher level with only 1 figure higher than men which is 15 minutes total.
In terms of bar chart, women devoted far more minutes on household activities compared with men. When it comes to cooking and washing dishes women spend almost 70 minutes per day whereas men are 30 minutes, also that is the highest number recorded by women in the chart. Furthermore, in shopping activity women spend roughly 35 minutes and men 25 minutes daily. In addition, in clothes washing and ironing activity women similarly spend more minutes standing at 30 minutes, while men are merely 10 minutes. Nevertheless, men reported in all these three activities lower, but in repairing activity men’s figure is almost 20 minutes and in the women is twice as small which is 10 minutes barely.
