Overall, the total number of people using platforms for their entry in the US rocketed between 2004 and 2010. Otherwise, while the number of searches using Google witnessed the increase, the other engines showed the opposite trend. It is also noticeable that Google was the most preferred tool for the purpose of searching in the US throughout all the stated time.
Regarding the line graph, Google led the way at all the given period. Starting at about 35% in November 2004, its figure rocketed to more than a half in July 2007 before experiencing a gradual ascend in the remaining period. As a result, it reached its peak at nearly 70% in August 2010. By contrast, the figure for Yahoo declined steadily from about 30% to only up to a fifth. In the same vein, Microsoft, AOL and Ask witnessed a marginal drop by 1 to 2% during the period given.
In terms of the table, there were nearly four times as many individuals searching by internet in sept 2010 as those in november 2004, with 16 billion residents and 4.5 billion residents respectively.
