The line graph gives data about the usage of Railway track by four different countries – China, USA, Russia, and India over the three decades, starting 1980. Units are measured thousands of kilometers.
Overall, China and India experienced upward trend, while the opposite was true for USA and Russia.
Initially the length of railway track in China and India recorded the lowest figure throughout period. In the first decade China’s usage of railway rack was lower than Indian, showing approximately 30 thousands of kilometers. In 1990 the usage of China and Russia railway track increased over the period, with the former experiencing a more substantial rise by the end of the period, reaching about 90 and 70 thousands of kilometers respectively.
As for the highest- ranking countries, USA and Russia followed higher trajectories. The length of railway track in USA stood at 250 thousands of kilometers in 1980, after which it declined steadily to 230 thousands of kilometers in 2010. However, it was still reaching their dominant position. Similarly the length in Russia started at 150 thousands of km in 1980, a figure that then declined slightly to 130 thousands of kilometers in 2010.
