The table compares the average distance, measured in miles, of several types of transportation modes used in Turkey in 2000 and 2015.
At first glance, the usage of cars in both years was the most compared to other modes. There are some types that experienced a decline in average distance used, such as walking, bicycle, and bus. On the other hand, vehicles such as car, train, metro, taxi, and others increased between both years.
The average distance of car users increased the most, by more than a thousand, from 4198 to 5806. This trend is also followed by train, which increased from 250 to 366. Moreover, metro and taxi experienced more than double and triple respectively, from 54 to 124 for metro and 13 to 42 for taxi average distance usage.
On the contrary, bus experienced a decline from 440 to 275 miles in 2015. It is similar to walking, which decreased slightly from 265 in 2000 to 277 in the next 15 years. Lastly, the average distance of bicycle usage dropped by 10, from 61 in 2000.
