The table compares average sales performance across three branches of a bakery in London – the Covent Garden, Oxford Circus and St John’s Wood – in 2015. The data includes the number of transactions, average transaction value, types of transactions and the most popular item in each branch. Covent Garden recorded the highest number of transactions and also had the highest value of each of the transactions, while St John’s Wood showed the lowest numbers across most categories. The branches also differed in their most purchased items.
Covent Garden had the greatest number of transactions at 642, followed by Oxford Circus at 538, and St John’s Wood at only 269. In terms of transaction value Covent Garden again led with 7.58£ which is significantly higher than Oxford Circus (4.51£) and St John’s Wood with 5.01£.
A similar pattern can be seen in the number of eat-in and take-away transactions. Covent Garden handled 304 eat-in and 338 take-away orders, both are the highest among the three branches. Oxford Circus followed with 247 eat-in and 291 take-away purchases, while St John’s Wood had the lowest numbers, at 150 and 119 respectively.
The most popular items also varied, the customers at Covent Garden most frequently bought croissants, Oxford Circus had the highest demand for medium lattes, while strawberry tarts were the top choice at St John’s Wood. In summary, Covent Garden showed the biggest amount of sales out of all three branches of a bakery in London.
