The table below gives information about government expenditure in five sectors relating to domestic policy in Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom in 2009. Overall, the environmental protection received the lowest proportion of the government expenditure in all countries. However, the dominant sector in each country varies.
Starting with categories with only small differences, healthcare services spent 7,1% of budget in Germany, sharing the largest proportion. UK also spent on the healthcare system 7.8%, which is also the biggest proportion in the country. Although Italy spend the biggest amount of money among these countries, 7.9%, it is only the second main sector in Italy. Economic affairs required only 4,0% of the government expendeture, while UK spent on this sector 4.4% of the budget, and Italy with the highest 4,5%. Looking at the environmental protection, Germany, Italy and the UK spend respectively 0.7%, 0.9% and 1%, and it required less expendeture among other categories.
The public services and education showed different results in each countries. While Germeny spent on the public services 6.6%, UK invested only 4.6% of money. In contrast, the public services was in Italy the main sector, on which the country spend 8.6%. Education also showed slightly different results in germany and Italy, respectively, 4.3% and 4.6%. However, UK allocated much more money, 6.4%.
