Overall, women were most represented in hospitality in all roles, particularly for managerial positions. In contrast, CEOs positions recorded the lowest percentages of females in 2016.
Managerial positions were the most prevalent roles in four industries. Female managers in hospitality, which registered the highest figure, accounting for nearly 35%, nearly doubled those of female managers in finance and IT. Meanwhile, the figure for managers in manufacturing was the lowest, constituting about 9% in 2016.
Regarding the remaining roles, the percentages of female executives increased significantly in four industries, which were mirrored by those of female in CEOs positions, albeit at a lower rate. At the beginning, just 2.5% of female executives in finance were observed, remaining this figure in manufacturing but then increasing nearly sixfold in IT, and continually rose by over 10% in hospitality. Similarly, the percentage of women working as CEOs started at also 2.5%, after which showing a twofold increase in manufacturing and rising to approximately 6% in IT, exactly 15% in hospitality.
