The tabulated data depicts the employment rates and the average yearly salaries of fresh graduates in a university of Australia in the year 2009. Overall, the highest employment rate was for the field Health, whereas the lowest was for the Science graduates. However, despite the highest employment rate, the average wages for Health graduates were quite low.
To begin with the sector of Health, the employment rate peaked in this field, accounting for 93%. Although, its salary was not the highest among all the other areas in consideration. The Law, Engineering and IT degree holders had an employment rate almost similar to each other, being 87% and 86% respectively. Moreover, their annual wages were also the topmost in comparison to the others, which was $59,000.
On the other hand, the freshers graduating from the Business sector, despite of having a low employment rate compared to the Health sector, had $10,000 more yearly salary than them. Employers from Arts and Social Science had approximately the same salary as that of the Business employers, accounting for $50,000. Lastly, the Science graduates not only had the least employment rates, but also the lowest annual wages.
