Band 5: The table below gives information about the employment sectors in which people from 3 age groups worked. (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 1 Sample)

The table illustrates the several unemployment sectors in which people from three different age groups (age 18 until 25, age 25 until 40 and age 40 until 65) worked.

Overall, among the other sectors, manufacturing held the top position in terms of total unemployment in all three age groups combined. In contrast, accountancy has the lowest unemployed people among the rest. Additionally, both retail and other sectors shows a declining trend of unemployment as the person grew older.

In terms of unemployment, manufacturing sector comprises of 50 people in total if all three age groups are combined. The lowest unemployment belongs to people from the age of 18 until 25 where it shows a sum of 12 people. However, the highest unemployment came from people at the age of 40 until 65, showing a total of 23 people that are jobless.

On the other hand, both retail and other sectors shows a staggering 21 and 23 people respectively from the age of 18 until 25 that are jobless. Despite the high unemployment rate, it decreased gradually as a person grew older. Thus, both sectors displays 6 and 9 people respectively at the age of 40 until 65.
