The given table illustrates data about underground railway systems in six cities namely, London, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto and Los Angeles.

Overall, it is clear that London’s trains travelled most but despite of this Tokyo had highest number of passengers which Kyoto had least.

To commence with, the London’s basement railway station was built in 1863 which was the first one among others. It covered a distance of around 394 KM and have average of 775 million passengers per year. In terms of Paris, station was opened in 1900 and travelled 199 KM with 1191 million people travelling each year. Tokyo’s railway system was introduced in 1927 which has been operated 155 KM with highest passengers in a year around 1927 million.

In contrast, Washing DC’s average travellers were 144 million with 126 KM of distance travelled. Kyoto and LA’s railway system was unsuccessful as it had covered only 11 and 28 KM of route respectively.

Apart from this they also had very less passengers which were only 45 and 50 million as they were opened in 1991 and 2001 respectively.
