Overall, Kiwifruit exports from New Zealand increased the most in Japan, while Mexico and Russia also saw significant growth. However, Saudi Arabia saw a sharp decline over the three years.
In terms of strong growth countries, kiwifruit exports from New Zealand to Japan have increased steadily over the years, from NZ$271 million in 2010 to NZ$287 million in 2011 and reached NZ$325.3 million in 2012. Also, although kiwifruit exports to China are much lower than those to Japan, there has been increased significantly, from NZ$74.9 million in 2010 to NZ$94 million in 2012.
Regarding change for countries with stable change or decline. Firstly, the value of kiwifruit exports from New Zealand to Mexico is quite low (NZ$1.2 million in 2010), yet it has increased significantly over time and peaked NZ$3 million in 2012. Next, growth in Russia was similar to Mexico, with export values rising from NZ$968 thousand in 2010 to NZ$2.4 million in 2012, followed by Saudi Arabia, it was the only country have a decline in export value, from NZ$ 29 million to NZ$ 82 thousand in 2012.
