The chart illustrates the data about the price of exports of kiwi fruit from New Zealand to Japan, China, Mexico, Russia and Saudi Arabia from 2010 to 2012.
It can be seen that the price of exports of kiwi fruit from New Zealand to Japan, China and Russia experienced an upward trend. In contrast, exporting to Mexico and Saudi Arabia witnessed an opposite trend. Additionally, Japan HAD has the highest value of kiwi fruit exported from New Zealand.
In 2010, the amount of kiwi exporting value from New Zealand to Japan recorded the highest figure at over 271 million, followed by China and Russia, at just under 75 million and around 970 thousand respectively. Over two years, kiwi value in Japan increased slightly to over 287 million in 2011 before rising significantly to over 325 million at the end of the period, while there was a marginal growth to over 84 million in 2011 and continued to increase moderately to finish at 94 million. A similar pattern in kiwi value in Russia also increased dramatically to above 1.5 million and then finished at 2.4 million at the end of the period.
A closer examination of the chart reveals, while the amount of kiwi value in Mexico was 6 million, which was far higher than kiwi value in Saudi Arabia, at only 290 thousand. Following two years, kiwi in Mexico saw a steep drop to 2.4 million in 2011 before rising again, ending the period at 3.3 million, while the amount of kiwi value in Saudi Arabia dropped remarkably to 106 thousand in 2011 and then continued to decrease slightly to 82 thousand in 2012
