The given table presents information about kiwi fruit exports from New Zealand to five different countries over a period of two years. Overall, it is clear that most countries experienced a noticeable increase in kiwi imports, which led to significant consumption of the fruit.
To begin with, Japan and China saw a significant rise in kiwi consumption. The increase in exports greatly accelerated the consumption of kiwi in these countries. Notably, from 2011 to 2012, Japan earned approximately $70,000, while China earned around $29,000 from kiwi fruit.
In contrast, Mexico and Saudi Arabia faced rough fluctuations in the value of kiwi fruit exports from New Zealand. Between 2010 and 2011, Mexico’s kiwi consumption decreased, resulting in a loss of $3,600 in exports. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia benefited from an increase in kiwi imports, making $117,000 in 2011, which was nearly double the amount from 2010.
However, as they approached 2012, Mexico and Saudi Arabia seemed to switch roles. Mexico’s kiwi shipments displayed a slight increase, contributing an additional $900 in benefits. At the same time, Saudi Arabia experienced a sharp decrease in its exports, dropping by approximately $325,000.
