Overall, the expenditure that Chinese spent on fast food/ drinks was the highest, the opposite was true for Japanese expenditure on leisure activities/ education. It is noticeable that there are a significant difference between China and other nations in investing in shoes/ watches
Regarding China and Thailand, the figure for money spent on fast food/ drinks by Chinese accounted for 28,91%, compared to that by Vietnam was only 15,77% – the lowest figure in this category. Chinese people spent a remarkable amount of money on shoes and watches, accounting for 16.23%, being the second-highest category in the country. However, this figure was significantly higher compared with that of the other nations, being nearly four times as much as Vietnam. By contrast, Vietnamese people tended to invest in leisure activities/ education with 3.22%, while China’ expenditures on this sector was only 2.21%
In terms of Thailand and Japan, their spending patterns were quite similar. The proportion of money that Thai citizens allocated to fast food and drinks stood at 16.36%, slightly lower than the figure for Japan, at 18.8%. As for shoes and watches, Thailand spent 5.93% of their budget, which was marginally higher than that of Japan (5.51%). As for leisure activities and education, the two nations recorded the lowest figures overall, with Thailand at 3.2% and Japan at just 1.98%.
