Overall, Luxembourg offered the highest pay for teachers since their early career. Whereas, the lowest salary cap was from Australia, where its salary range was the second narrowest from the last: Denmark.
Comparing to other countries listed, Japan offered the lowest salary at USD 28,000 per year as the starting rate. On the other hand, the most competitive pay was Luxembourg. They paid USD 80,000 per for their new teachers and also gave the maximum of their annual based salary at USD 139,000, which made Luxembourg’s teachers the highest paid in both early and late careers among others in 2009.
However, Australia and Denmark were offering the lowest maximum but yet the shortest years to reach the cap of salary ranges. In Australia, the annual highest pay was the lowest of the list. They had USD 48,000 annually, with 9 years to be reached. Similar to Denmark, whose teacher took the shortest 8 years to get the maximum USD 54,000 per year.
