The table shows how products from cows such as milk and butter are used across different age groups in a country in Europe. At first glance, it is clear that full fat diary products is the preferred choice for people less than 25 years.
Milk consumption is highest in the 65+ age group with 1900mls on average and the majority being low fat, a similar trend in the age group 26 – 45. The Late middle age group and the below 25 group have a more even distribution among low fat and high fat products, with the latter group the only ones with a prefence for full fat milk.
Turning to butter, full fat is also the preferred choice in the <25 group, and ages 26 – 45 retained a preference for low fat butter as they did in milk. The more elderly categories both had virtually even preference for full fat and low fat butter, and ages 45 – 65 consuming about 60g of butter in total.
