Looking at the table from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that vegetables were consumed the most in a person’s diet. Over the years, meat consumption decreased, whereas those of the other foods witnessed a climb.
Regarding vegetables, 2140 grams were included on a weekly basis in a person’s diet in 1992, which was followed by a steady rise to 2220 grams per week in 2012. Next came meat with 1148 grams being consumed in 1992. Its amount grew slightly to 1211 grams in 2002 and thereafter, dropped back to 1132 grams.
Wheat, bean and cheese were weekly consumed under 1000 grams. In 1992, 837 grams of wheat and 532 grams of beans were eaten every week in this country . 20 years later, these amounts went up to 911 and 590 grams respectively. Cheese consumption was the lowest with only 113 grams in 1992 and 125 grams in 2012.
