The table compares the weekly consumption of different food categories by each person in a European nation over 20-year period, especially in 3 main stages (1992, 2002 and 2012).
Throughout the period shown, vegetable were the dominant food category consumed by most people in this country, while cheese had the lowest consumption. However, each category of food shown an upward trend over 20 years.
Bean consumption, just followed cheese’s, hit the low of 532 grams in 1992 and then increased slightly to 590 grams per person in 2012. Whereas, there was relatively no change in the amount of consumed cheese in a week, which remained stably under 130 grams per person.
By contrast, a gradual growth was shown in the consumption of wheat, from 817 grams in the first year to 977 grams in 2012. In 1992, meat, ranked second out of 5 compared categories, whose consumption was 1148 grams per person, however, dropped to 1132 grams in 2012 after an insignificant increase to 1121 grams in 2002.
