The table outlines information about the number of religious and civil marriages and the average age of bride and bridegrooms during four decades, between 1960 and 2000. On the whole, it is evidence that the age of both bride and bridegrooms rose slightly as well as total quantity of marriages.
In details, the number of religious marriages started at 42,000 in 1960, while the quantity of civil marriages was 8,000 in the beginning of period and the average age for brides was 21, when for bridegrooms it was 23. Then, there was a slight rise in both marriage statuses, for religious marriages it was 50,000 and for civil marriages the figure was 16,000. The average age for both genders was also increased, just in two decades. After that, the civil marriages saw a considerable increase to 40,000 in the last three-year period.The average age for brides and bridegrooms also went up, which meant that the average age for brides was 30 and the average age for bridegrooms was 31.
By contrast, the number of religious marriages saw a sharp decline by to 32,000 just in a year. Finally, the figure reached the lowest point at 36,000 in the last year. Despite being the most popular status by 1980, the religious marriages witnessed a dramatically drop.
