The table illustrates the results of a survey conducted in a European country in 2012, which examined the television programme preferences of people from three different age groups. Overall, it is clear that younger teenagers were more interested in cartoons, while adults preferred watching the news. Meanwhile, feature films and sports were popular across all age categories, albeit to varying degrees.
Among those aged 11 to 15, cartoons were by far the most favoured option, with 29% choosing them, followed by sports and feature films. However, only a small proportion of this group watched the news or TV dramas.
For individuals aged 15 to 20, the most preferred programme type was feature films, at about 23%, while cartoons and sports each attracted 18% of viewers. Interest in news stood at around 19%, whereas soap operas and TV dramas were less popular, at 12% and 10% respectively.
In contrast, adults aged 21 to 25 showed the greatest preference for news, at around 23%, with feature films and sports remaining popular choices. Cartoons were the least watched among this group, at just 4%.
