The table gives information about how much oil was produced in four African countries, namely Nigeria, Chad, Congo and Somalia, from 2000 to 2004.
Generally, while Nigeria, Chad and Somalia experienced an upward trend in the amount of oil production over the period, the figures dropped in Congo. Moreover, Nigeria kept dominance with the highest amounts during the all given years.
As we can see, Nigeria and Somalia had similar trends with slight fluctuations over the years. However, there were significant differences between the amounts of produced oil in these countries. Nigeria had oil produced considerably much from the beginning of the period. In 2000, 2.000.000 barrels of oil were produced there. After a mere growth in the next year, in 2002, the numbers dropped to 1.900.000. Despite this, the figures increased again and peaked at 2.300.000 in 2004. Meanwhile, the amount of oil production in Somalia fluctuated between 8.000 and 15.000 from 2000 to 2002 and increased gradually to 40.000 and 50.000 in the last two given years, respectively.
