The given table illustrates the percentage of population aged 65 and above in Canada, Germany and the UK in three years 1988, 2000 and 2030.
Overall, the proportion of population aged 65 and over was the highest in Germany throughout the studied period, while that in UK was the lowest.
In 1988, Germany had 20% of population aged 65 and over, which was the highest among three nations. In the following years, this percentage increased morderately to 25% in 2000 and 30% in 2030 respectively. Meanwhile, the percentage of Canadan population aged 65 and over started at only 16% and then climbed significantly to 21% in 2000 before reaching a peak of 26% in the final year.
Regarding to UK, there are only 14% of population aged 65 and above which is the smallest in 1988. 2000 saw a slightly increase in the percentage of the elderly aged 65 and above in the UK to 15% and this propotion continuted going up by 5% in 2030.
