The table illustrates data and predictions concerning the differences between the proportions of population who are aged 65 and more in (Canada, Germany and UK).
Overall, the number of senior citizens starting from the age 65 and above was the highest in Germany in the period given. Whereas, the United Kingdom was considered to be the country that has the least percentage of the elderly.
First, the old Germans percentage was estimated to be the highest in 1988 and in 2000 by (20.45% and 25,32%) respectively. Moreover, it is expected that the number will increase to be 30,42% in 2030. While the percentage of the elderly among the English people was considered to be the lowest by 14.23% in 1988 and 14,89% in 2000. Furthermore, there are estimations that the proportion shall rise to 20.35% in 2030.
On the other hand, the elder Canadians rate was the lowest by 16.32% in 1988 and it went up at 20.67 % in 2000. It is predicted that their numbers will go up to 26.35% in 2030.
