The table illustrates the populations of 4 countries: Argentina, Indonesia, Italy, and Republic of Korea (ROK) in the year 2003, 2025 and 2050.
Overall, nearly all countries will experience an upward trend in their population numbers, with the exception of Italy which will follow the opposite trend. It is also notable that Indonesia was the most populous and will remain so in the future.
In 2003, Indonesia had a population of 238 million people, which is greater than the other three countries combined. This figure is projected to reach 274 million and 312 million in 2025 and 2050 respectively. In contrast, the population of Italy is predicted to be in decline, dropping from 54 million in 2003 to only 45 million in 2050.
Regarding the other two nations, in 2003, the figures for Argentina and ROK, respectively, occupied the fourth and third places at 34 and 48 million. While the population of Argentina is expected to grow well into the year 2050, reaching 62 million by then, the ROK’s population is expected to stagnate at the 52 million mark, starting from 2025.
