The table illustrates farming rate of three type of fish in a region over 10-year period.
Overall, the amount of species increased with rainbow trout as the least. Although at the beginning of the period Artic char were leading the trend, salmon became the dominant type toward the end of the period.
Salmon farming increased significantly over the years. In 2008, only 292 millions of tonnes were produced, but by 2012 the number rocketed ten times of the initial number to 2923 million tonnes. The positive trend continued until it peaked at 13448 millions of tonnes in 2018. In addition, Arctic char had the highest initial rate on 2008 with 3124 millions of tonnes. Despite the slight drop to 2427 millions in 2010, the farming gained the increase trend back in 2012 with 3089 million tonnes and reached 4914 millions in 2018. In contrast, rainbow trout was the least compared to the others with only 6 million of tonnes produced. The amount then increased steadily until it reach 603 million tonnes by 2014 and reached its peak at 2138 millions of tonnes in 2016. However, the number plummeted to only 295 millions in 2018.
