The table demonstrates the quantity of different species of fish that were produced in a specific place from 2008 to 2018.
Overall, in 2008 the most popular fish was arctic char, but by the end of the period salmon overtook its position. On top of that, the production of all fish increased almost every year.
At the start of the period arctic char was comfortably on top, with 3124 units produced. Salmon and trout were nowhere near, with only 292 and 6 fish farmed, respectively. In 2010 there was more than 3 times as much salmon farmed (1068) and almost 15 times as much trout (88). The char experienced a dip in that year (2427), but in 2012 it bounced back to 3089 fish. The other 2 types of fish sustained their growth trends, reaching 2923 units of salmon and 422 units of trout that year.
The uptick continued in 2014, but trout was the only one to reach its peak in 2016 (2138), plummeting in the final year (295). Salmon finally became the most popular type of fish in 2016 (8420), by almost doubling char’s numbers (4084). In 2018 salmon reached the highest peak of any fish (13448) and char reached its personal apex (4914).
