The data depicts the average weekly income of males and females working in different sectors for the year 2015.
Looking at the men’s salaries, Professionals were at the top with average earnings of $2000, while Manual Laborers were at the bottom with $1100. Technicians ranked second with $1400, followed by Administrative/ Clerical Workers, and Service Workers.
Looking at the earnings of the opposite gender, Professionals were paid $1900, the highest number among all sectors, but $100 less than salaries of males in the same sector. Similarly, Manual Laborers were paid the least amount of money with $850, which is $250 less than their counterparts. Administrative/ Clerical Workers were at the second spot with earnings of $1000, followed by Service Workers, and Technicians. Importantly, female technicians were paid $500 less than male technicians, the greatest income gap among all sectors.
Overall, salaries of men were higher than that of women in all listed occupations, and Professionals were paid the highest amount of money among both genders.
