The table chart illustrates the proportion of people taking part in a variety of sports in an European country between 1999 and 2009.
As can be seen from the graph, while the rate of people who play tennis, swimming, golf, yoga and valleyball increased, the others decreased. In the first year, the percentage of football players was the highest, throughout the years, this figure decreased but still remained at the top position.
At the beginning of period, the rate of people joining in football was the most popular category with about 57%, this figure was roughly 25% higher than the percentage of individuals taking parte part in swimming, while only 8% and 10% were presented by the figure for golf and yoga, respectively. Throughout 10 years, the rate of people playing football decreased significantly to 48% but still remained at the top position. In contrast, the figure for swimming increased only 2% to 34% between 2004 and 2009, Similarly, the percentage of golf players increased remarkably to about 17% and the rate of people who play yoga still remained with 10% in 2004 and increased slightly to 13% at the end of the period.
In 1999, the rate of individuals enjoy playing tennis with about 25% higher than the figure for valleyball with about 17% while 26% was presented by the proportion of basketball players. In the following 10 years, the figure for tennis rose remarkably to about 33% on 2009. Similarly, the proportion of people who play valleyball witnessed a significant rose to about 20% before experience a slight decreased to about 18% in 2009. Finally, the figure for Basketball declined significantly to 24%.
