The overall graph highlights that there is an increase in price of water when water usage exceeds 125 KL in three Australin cities, namely Adeliade, Brisbane, and Perth. Whereas, water charges in Melbourne and Sydney remains constant, and does not fluctuate with the usage of water.
On close inspection, it is evident that Perth has the highest water charges when water usage exceeds the mark of 125 KL, charging $1.50 per kiloliter of water. Because of this, average bill per household is the highest in Perth, that is, $332. Whereas, Sydney charges $0.98 per kiloliter of water, and its price does not fluctuate with water usage. The average household bill in Sydney is $319, the second highest among all.
Adelaide has the cheapest water charges when water usage is below 125Kl, however it charges $1 when it exceeds this mark. Furthermore, Brisbane’s average household bill is $310.
Melbourne emerges as the cheapest city, where charges does not fluctuate with water usage. It charges $0.78 per kiloliter of water, making an average household bill of just $253.
