The chart gives information about the number of Australian students studying in five different foreign countries, namely the USA, New Zealand, the UK, Germany, and Japan, between 2004 and 2006.
Overall, it is clear that English-speaking countries were more popular than others among Australian students. Notably, the USA and New Zealand were the most preferred countries, while the opposite was true for Germany and Japan.
In detail, both the USA and New Zealand had over 2500 students each in 2004, making them the most preferred destinations. Although these countries showed almost similar upward trend, the former witnessed more pronounced increase than that of the latter until the final year, responsible for nearly 2800 students and 2700 students, respectively. As for UK, it had 1500 students in the first year, and then, stood the same from 2005 to 2006, despite a slight growth by 1000.
Regarding the remaining countries, Germany and Japan had far less individuals from Australia than that for others. These countries had almost the similar pattern in both countries during the period, reaching the same initial positions at the end of the period, with approximately 200 students, despite a slight decline a year before.
