Overall, people who worked in educational institutions as professors had the highest employment in 2015 while office managers had the least number of workers. Even after a decade, we can see there is not much difference in the employment rates as both kept their positions, with professors occupying the top and office managers staying at the bottom.
In 2015, it is quite evident that professors were the dominant job role with 2,785,000 people in its workforce. It is almost twice as high as the number of cleaners with a count of 1,321,000 people. Following professors, we have the role of retail trade with an amount of 1,785,000. We have hospitality with 1,235,000 and education with 1,475,000. Lastly, office managers had the lowest employment, with 1,785,000 workers.
After 10 years, in 2025, the figure for professors is projected to rise slightly by 3% to 2,868,550. Hospitality is predicted to have the highest projected change of 8% reaching 1,333,800 workers. On the contrary, the number of cleaners is expected to decrease by 1% to 1,221,000. Meanwhile education, office managers, and retail traders are forecasted to an increase of 4%, 5% and 3.5% respectively.
