The pie charts below show the percentage of students and their favourite sports in Malaysian secondary school during the two school years 2004-2005 and 2014-2005.
Overall, the number of students increased significantly in the decade. The largest increase of percentage was in basketball, whereas the percentage of teninis dramatically decreased. Other types of sports were as the same level as in the first school year.
The number of students in Malaysian secondary school was 73,000 at the end of 2004 and beginning of 2005.The percentage of students who chose tennis was 40%, it was the highest percentage in that year. Football was the second most popular sport with 30% of students. The percentage of students who preferred basketball was 15%, while swimming was preferred by 10%. The least popular sport was rugby, with only 5% of students choosing it.
After the decade, the number of students significantly increased to 91,000 people. The number of students who liked tennis dramatically decreased to 15%, whereas the percentage of football slightly increased to 40%. The number of people who chose basketball significantly increased to 35%, while number of individuals who preferred swimming decreased to 5%. The percentage of students who liked rugby remained unchanged at 5%.
