The following figure shows how many transports registered in unspecified areas of Australia in three different years: 2010, 2012 and 2014. Overall, motorcycles showed the significant rise over the period. It is also clear that, passanger vehicles and commercial vehicles were commonly used transport types, while the reverse was true for light trucks.
During all three periods, passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles were the two most registered types of transport throughout the country. The former saw 11,000,000 and increased by million in every two years, finishing at 13,000,000, a 18,2% growth. The latter rose by a similar percentage too – 17.4% – to 2,700,000 in 2014, up from 2,300,000 in 2010.
The remaining kinds of transport did not reach the million mark. The figure for motorcycles increase from 570,000 to 750,000, which translates into a 30.7% increase, this being the largest proportion jump. Heavy trucks, on the other hand, saw the least percentage rise (10.2%), with the numbers reaching 423,000 in the final year. Ranked list, light trucks was seen the second biggest percentage increase as its number changed upwardly only slightly to 131,000 by the end of the study period.
