The tabular data provides number of stays in one day and overnight in general and private hospitals in 5 Australian states for previous year whereas the pie chart illustrates the percentage amount of stays in same day and overnight in public and private hospital.
Overall, it is evident from the table that among all 5 states highest number of stays in public and private hospitals were recorded from new south Wales. However, it is observed from the pie chart that public hospitals were having larger proportion of overnight and same day stays in previous year.
To commence with, New south Wales state has encountered 6097 thousand stays in public hospitals while number of stays in private hospital were 2225. Additionally, 4607 stays in Victoria state’s public hospitals were recorded while private hospital contributed with 2235 stays. number of stays in all the hospital from Queensland state were 5191 in which public hospitals stays were 3128 and private hospitals stays were 2063. Apart from that, total number of stays in hospitals from western Australia were 2552 in which public hospitals were in lead with 893 stays. Other than this, the south Australian public hospitals were having 1597 stays which was 980 more than that of private hospitals.
On the other hand, the public hospital’s overnight and same day stays were quite less than one third of total stays from both the hospitals. However, the private hospital’s same day stays were just over quarter and overnight stays were 14%.
