The following table indicates the percentages of electronic appliances in New Zealand in years of 2002 and 2020, respectively.
The selected electronic products include washing machine, color TV, computer, cell phone, video recorder, dishwasher, and digital camera. It is obvious that in year 2020, almost half of all households in New Zealand possess the electronic products listed above. Only digital camera has a slightly less percentage, at 40, compared to other appliances.
In comparison from 2002 to 2020, cell phone had the most significant increase, from only 20 percent in 2002 to 80 percent in 2020. The second largest increase among the goods is digital camera, with only a percentage of 2 in 2002 to 40 percent in 2020. While most products saw an increase of use from 2002 to 2020, video recorder dropped from a 75 percentage in 2002 to only 60 in 2020. Washing machine increased only 1 percent over the 18 years apart, whilst color TV increased by 4 percent. Lastly, computer and dishwasher grew nearly 30 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
