The table provides information about the proportion of man and woman workforce in six different employment categories in two years of 1993 and 2003.
Overall, despite many changes, the sector of services and transport still attracted the largest share of male and female workers. Also the fields of agriculture, building, and social services eventually observed the smallest participation rates among both genders.
On the one hand, there were different degrees of reduction in the participation rate among women in service and transport (53% to 36%), agriculture (8% to 6%) and manufacturing (25% to 12%). Similarly, agriculture and building witnessed a drop in the rate of man, from 38% to 8% and 12% to 10%. respectively.
In contrast, the rate of participation among the other fields saw different extents of increase. Business was engaged professionally by a significantly larger share of women, from 1% to 22%, while the jump in the building and social services categories were less prominent, from 0% to 6% and 13% to 18%, respectively. The ranges of increase among men were similarly diverse, with the largest jump being 9% (services and transport) and the smallest (manufacturing reaching only 1%.
