The table compares what percentage of males and females commuting to work by various modes of transport, namely, bus, car, motor bike, and on foot in Sydney in 2001.
Overall, it was obvious that the proportion of people traveling by bus was the biggest, while the smallest group was by motor bike.
Regarding males, the highest proportion(32%) of them used buses to get to work. In addition, 28% of them chose cars for traveling to work. While riding motorcycles to work lagged behind the most with its 3% usage, going by bike and on foot went toe-to-toe (18%-17%) in the number of men reaching their workplaces.
Turning to bus usage among females, it placed first out of 5 types of transport with its total 38%. Women going to work by car accounts for 28%, ranking second among the overall indicators. While 16% of them go for bicycles to commute to work, a slightly higher 17% preffered walking. Additionally, motorcycle users make up the lowest percentage, accounting for just 2% .
