The given table shows the percentage of people who used four diverse forms of transport to travel to work in 2000,2010 and 2020.
It is clear that the proportion of car use declined significantly over the period, while the use of bus and bicycle rose gradually. Car use remained the most popular transportation throughout the period whereas walking stayed the same as in the start.
In 2000, cars were the most popular type of transport, accounting for 55% of commuters. The figure then decrease to 50% in 2010 and 40% in 2020. However, buses followed an opposite trend, increased steadily from 25% in 2000 to 30% in 2010 and 35% in 2020.Despite this increase, cars were still more popular than that of buses in 2020.
The proportion of people who travelled by bicycle also went up through the period. It rose from 10% in 2000 to 12% in 2010, before reaching to 15% in 2020. In contrast, walking showed a slight fluctuation. The figure decreased from 10% to 8% between 2000 and 2010, then improved again to 10% in 2000.
