Overall, it is clear that Zara had the highest proportion of sales in both years, while other smaller brands together accounted for the largest share, although this figure fell over the period. In contrast, Uniqlo and Adidas saw noticeable increases.
In 2015, Zara was responsible for 19% of total global sales, followed by H&M with 17% and Nike with 14%. Uniqlo and Adidas made up smaller portions, 9% and 8% respectively. Other brands together contributed the largest part at 33%.
By 2018, Zara’s sales share rose slightly to 21%, remaining the leader. Uniqlo showed the most significant growth, increasing from 9% to 12%. Adidas also grew by 1%. In contrast, H&M dropped marginally from 17% to 16%, while Nike increased by only 1%. Meanwhile, the percentage of other smaller brands declined notably from 33% to 27%.
