The table chart illustrates how work-related pressure was experienced in five kinds of occupations, namely healthcare, education, retail, construction and technology among workers from 2010 to 2020.
Overall, stress levels increased in all occupations over the 10- year period. The percentage of healthcare sector accounted for the most significant figure, while the retail industry maintained the lowest percentage over the period.
In 2010, 46 percent of healthcare workers suffered from work-related stress, and this figure peaked at 63 percent in 2020. A similar upward trend was observed in the education occupation, which rose significantly, starting at 31 percent in 2010 and soaring to 52 percent in 2020. In construction, technology and retail, the percentage of stressed workers all experienced a little increase of 5 percent. The construction industry saw a rise from 34 percent to 39 percent, and technology workers experienced a modest increase from 26 percent to 31 percent Bottom of the list was always the percentage of the retail sector, which had the lowest stress in both years.
