Overall, it is clear that manufacturing industry had experienced a sharp decline both for men and women, while banking persentage had rosen steadily throughout the years. What is more, catering had almost remained stable, whereas education had witnessed a slight increase.
To begin with, manufacturing industry almost halved, demonstating a significant decline for both men and women: from 32% in 1986 to 17% in 2006 and from 18% to 6% respectively. In contrast, banking had grown moderately from 11% in 1986 to 21% in 2006 for men and 12% to 19% for women.
It should be noted that education had experienced a negligibly uplift from 13% in 1986 to 15% in 2006 for working men and 33% to 38% for women, where women represent approximately twice the percentage of men. In addition, catering for men had increased minimally and after had no change: from 16% in 1986 to 22% in both 1996 and 2006, whereas women had remained stable through the years, constituting 26%.
