Overall, it can be clearly seen that most men working in manufacturing industry, while women mostly working in education field. In contrast, banking is considered the least job field in both genders working area.
In 1986, 32% of men were working in manufacturing industry, which is the highest percentage among all field, but a figure was dramatically dropped to 21% in 1996 and slightly fell to 17% in 2006. In catering, banking and education, all three categories saw a light increase. With catering start from 16% in 1986 and sharply rose to 22% in 2006. The percentage of men in education also notice a small rise from 13% in 1986 to 15% in 2006. Conversely, Banking had a lowest participation of men in 1986 at 11%, but it has substantially increased over the period ending at 21% in 2006.
For women, Education field was the polpular one among all area, with 33% in 1986, a figure slowly increase to 35% in 1996 and settling at 38% in 2006. Catering were the second popular one of all four areas, at about 26% and the data remained unchanged throughout the period. Furthermore, banking were the least favorite one among women at 12% in 1986 and has a slight increase to 19% in 2006. Meanwhile, there was a change in manufacturing industry from 18% in 1986, and significantly decreased to 16% in 1996 and ending at 19% in 2006.
