Overall, it is obvious that the area of employment showed an upward trend in all the fields except for the manufacturing industry. In addition, the education area was mostly women throughout the period.
In 1986, the percentage of male and female workers in banking was almost the same recorded at 11% and 12%, and these figures grew slightly by 10% and 7% respectively in 2006. Just 16% of people who worked in the catering sector were men and rose to 22% in 1996 and 2006 while there were no more women working in this field for three years remaining stable at 26% over the period.
Regarding the manufacturing industry, the number of men participating in this field was 32% in 1986, after which it saw a significant dropping of 11% after ten years, it continued to fall further to 17% in 2006. A similar change but a lesser extent was seen in the figure for women starting with 18% in 1986 and ending at 6% after 20 years. By contract, the proportion of men worked in education was about 13% in 1986 and increased year over year by a mere 1%. Female employment reported at 33% in 1986 increasing to 35% before soaring up to 38% in 2006.
