The table compares the proportion of women in the labour workforce and female managers in five different countries.
As a whole, Japan has the highest percentage of female workers, while Australia and the United States share the largest proportion of women in management positions. Notably, these two countries have only a small gap between the percentage of women in labour force and in management, whereas the other countries show significant disparities in these figures.
In terms of female workers, Japan leads with nearly half of its workforce being women, followed closely by the United States at 46%. While the figures for Australia and Sri Lanka are the same at 42%, Egypt lags behind by a considerable margin at 20%.
Regarding women holding managerial positions, Australia and the United States have the highest percentage of female managers at 43%. Despite having the largest proportion of women in the workforce, the percentage of females in Japan serving as managers is only 17%, 5 percentage points higher than the figure for Egypt. Finally, Sri Lanka has the smallest percentage of females holding managerial positions at nearly a tenth.
