Japan has the highest level of female participation in the workforce (48%), followed closely by the USA (46%). Australia and Sri Lanka share the same figure, at 42%, whereas Egypt lags behind significantly at 20%.
A similar pattern can be seen in managerial positions, although the percentages are considerably lower. Australia and the USA have the highest representation of women in management (43%), while Japan and Sri Lanka show much lower figures, at 17% and 9% respectively. In Egypt, the proportion drops to 12%, which is five percentage points below its workforce participation rate.
