The table compares the percentage of participation in various cultural activities by different ages among 6800 adult Scottish ( 16 years old and over), within the last 12 months. Overall, performance-related activities have the highest participation rates across all age groups, while computer-based activities have the least interest.
In the 15-24 group, participation rates are generally higher compared to the older groups. More than one-third of them take part in performance-related activities, the highest rates for any activities across all groups. Secondly, visual arts have the rates of 30%, twice as much as that in crafting and cultural purchases( 11% for each).
Regarding older groups, their participation is more evenly spreaded across the activities. Both show their highest involvement in crafting (22% for the oldest group) and performing ( 22% in 25-44 group). Nonetheless, writing and computer-based activities have the least interest, under 10% of them take part in these activities.
