The table presents the results of a survey among 6800 Scottish adults aged 16 years and over on their participation in several cultural activities in the past year, divided into four different age groups.
Overall, it is clearly seen that the most culturally active age group is the 16-24-year-olds, which has the highest percentage of participation in the majority of activities. It has also to be mentioned that Any writing and Computer based are the least popular activities among all age groups.
The 16-24-years-old age group has maximal participation in four out of six listed activities, with 35% and 30% in Any performance and Any visual arts, respectively. However this age group has only 11% participation in both Undertaking any crafts and Cultural purchases, which is the minimal value in these categories. It also leads in Any writing and Computer based with 17% and 10%, accordingly.
Other age groups, namely 25-24, 45-74-year-olds and all aged 16 and over, have some considerable participation in the four above-mentioned activities. The participation is in the range of 11-22% for Any performance, Undertaking any crafts, Cultural purchases, and Any visual arts.
Any writing and Computer based are least popular social activities, so that each of other age groups has less than 10% participation there.
