Overall, the vast majority of countries experienced an increase, except France where numbers remained the same and Hong Kong being the only country that saw a decline. France had the highest quantity of tourists in both years, while change in Germany was the most drastic one.
In both 2009 and 2010, France was the most visited destination among tourists, maintaining a stable figure of 76 million. United States ranked the second, with 66 and 67 million in 2009 and 2010 respectively, indicating 1.5% change. Spain experienced a modest change of 1.8%, (from 55 million to 56 million). Rates of international visitors in United Kingdom constituted 55 million in 2009 and increased by 3.6% in the following year (57 million)
The figure for tourists who visited Turkey as a destination country made up 33 million in 2009 and 45 million in 2010, recording 33% growth. The change of 55% was recorded in China, where quantity of tourist was 22 million in 2009 and 34 million in 2010. The most dramatic change (109%) was recorder in Germany, it changed from 11 millions in 2009 to 23millions in 2010. The only country that recorded a decrease was Hong Kong, the numbers dropped from 10 million to 9 million , marking a 11% change.
