Overall, housing, and food and drink cost the most of household income in all five countries, while clothing is the least spent category.
Turkey stands out as the country that spends the most on food and drink at 36%. Meanwhile UK stands out as the nation that spends the highest percentage on housing at 37%, which is the highest percentage spent on any category, by any country. However, Germany pays the least on food and drink in comparison to other countries at 22%, while Spain expends the least percentage on housing at 18%.
Both Germany and Spain spend the same amount for clothing and entertainment respectively at 15%. Similarly, UK spends 11% of household income on both clothing entertainment. France expends only 7% on clothing, which is the lowest percentage in any category, for any nation. And Germany noticeably spends the most on entertainment.
