The table shows the percentages that five European countries spend on four categories (food and drink, housing, clothing, and entertainment) for each month. It is evident that food and drink and housing occupy the majority of the spending in all five countries, while clothing and entertainment have much less interest.
Firstly, it is noticeable that in France, Germany, and the UK, the majority of income goes to housing with a ratio of one-third of the total spending. Also, food and drink are approximately one-quarter, with percentages of (25, 22, and 27). In contrast, Turkey and Spain both spend around the same percentages on food and drink—36% and 31%—but on housing they spend around one-fifth of their income.
Secondly, Germany, the UK, and Turkey are on the same page regarding spending on the clothing category; they all spend around 11% to 15%. Entertainment in Turkey is the least category on which money is spent, with 10%, and near this percentage are the UK and France, with 11% and 13%. In Germany and Spain, spending is nearly the same, at 19% and 15%, respectively.
